Disproving termination with overapproximation
When disproving termination using known techniques (e.g. recurrence sets), abstractions that overapproximate the program’s transition relation are unsound. In this paper we introduce live abstractions, a natural class of abstractions that can be combined with the recent concept of closed recurrence sets to soundly disprove termination. To demonstrate the practical usefulness of this new approach we show how programs with nonlinear, nondeterministic, and heap-based commands can be shown nonterminating using linear overapproximations
Proving Nontermination via safety
We show how the problem of nontermination proving can be reduced to a question of underapproximation search guided by a safety prover. This reduction leads to new nontermination proving implementation strategies based on existing tools for safety proving. Our preliminary implementation beats existing tools. Furthermore, our approach leads to easy support for programs with unbounded nondeterminism

Variation in soluble extractives, lignin and holocellulose content of wood of different provenances of Tectona grandis L.
The present studies were conducted on variation in soluble extractives, lignin and holocellulose content of wood of different provenances of Tectona grandis. The data on cold and hot water solubility, alcohol-benzene solubility, lignin and holocellulose content of wood exhibited significant variation in different provenances of Teak. Among different selected provenances, the highest cold water solubility [16.43% (4.05)] and hot water solubility [19.56% (4.42)] was recorded in APNPL-10 and lowest was recorded in ORPLM-1 [6.34% (2.52)] and [8.34% (2.89)], respectively. Maximum percentage of alcohol-benzene solubility was observed in KLN-2 [17.64% (4.20)] andminimum per cent was recorded in MHSC-J1 [7.13% (2.67)]. Maximum percentage of lignin [39.00 % (38.64)] and holocellulose (76.53%) content was noticed in ORANP-6 and APT-11, respectively. whereas, minimum percentage of lignin 20.83% (27.15) and holocellulose (64.20%) content were found in TNT-10 and APT-20, respectively. Thestudy would help to utilize the findings and developing future strategies for screening the provenances of Tectona grandis

X-ray photoemission study of NiS_{2-x}Se_x (x = 0.0 - 1.2)
Electronic structure of NiS_{2-x}Se_x system has been investigated for
various compositions (x) using x-ray photoemission spectroscopy. An analysis of
the core level as well as the valence band spectra of NiS_2 in conjunction with
many-body cluster calculations provides a quantitative description of the
electronic structure of this compound. With increasing Se content, the on-site
Coulomb correlation strength (U) does not change, while the band width W of the
system increases, driving the system from a covalent insulating state to a
pd-metallic state.Comment: 19 pages, 6 figures, To appear in Phys. Rev. B, 200
Electronic structure of NiS_{1-x}Se_x
We investigate the electronic structure of the metallic NiSSe
system using various electron spectroscopic techniques. The band structure
results do not describe the details of the spectral features in the
experimental spectrum, even for this paramagnetic metallic phase. However, a
parameterized many-body multi-band model is found to be successful in
describing the Ni~2 core level and valence band, within the same model. The
asymmetric line shape as well as the weak intensity feature in the Ni~2 core
level spectrum has been ascribed to extrinsic loss processes in the system. The
presence of satellite features in the valence band spectrum shows the existence
of the lower Hubbard band, deep inside the metallic regime, consistent
with the predictions of the dynamical mean field theory.Comment: To be published in Physical Review B, 18 pages and 5 figure
Isoniazid hair concentrations in children with tuberculosis: a proof of concept study
Assessing treatment adherence and quantifying tuberculosis drug exposure among children is challenging. We undertook a “proof of concept” study to assess the drug concentrations of isoniazid in hair as a therapeutic drug monitoring tool. Children <12 years of age initiated on thrice-weekly treatment including isoniazid (10 mg/kg) for newly diagnosed tuberculosis were enrolled. Isoniazid concentrations in hair were measured using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry at 1, 2, 4 and 6 months after tuberculosis treatment initiation. We found that isoniazid hair concentrations in all children on thrice weekly isoniazid were detectable and displayed variability across a dynamic range
Georeferenced soil information system: assessment of database
Land-use planning is a decision-making process that
facilitates the allocation of land to different uses that
provide optimal and sustainable benefit. As land-use
is shaped by society–nature interaction, in land-use
planning different components/facets play a significant
role involving soil, water, climate, animal (ruminant/
non-ruminant) and others, including forestry
and the environment needed for survival of mankind.
At times these components are moderated by human
interference. Thus land-use planning being a dynamic
phenomenon is not guided by a single factor, but by a
complex system working simultaneously,which largely
affects the sustainability. To address such issues a
National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP) on
‘Georeferenced soil information system for land-use
planning and monitoring soil and land quality for
agriculture’ was undertaken to develop threshold
values of land quality parameters for land-use planning
through quantitative land evaluation and crop
modelling for dominant cropping systems in major
agro-ecological sub-regions (AESRs) representing
rice–wheat cropping system in the Indo-Gangetic
Plains (IGP) and deep-rooted crops in the black
soil regions (BSR). To assess the impact of landuse
change, threshold land quality indicator values
are used. A modified AESR map for agricultural landuse
planning is generated for effective land-use planning
